As a new educator, I am seeking to enhance my effectiveness as a 21st-Century leader. I want to show my students how technology can be used each and every day by providing an example of how it can be used independently. Many of my students come from low-income households and some do not have access to personal computers, tablets, or laptops. It is essential to include blended learning into the curriculum so that students develop digital agency during the age of technology. Using the iPad device, I will teach students time management and organizational skills through the use of simple applications such as setting alarms and reminders. As they become more confident with the general usage of the tool, I will emphasize that they have choices among numerous applications within the device to personalize its function. In addition to providing a platform to teach essential blended learning skills, the iPad will allow me to respond to student work thoroughly and track their progress in real-time. I will use the qualitative and quantitative data that is produced to plan lessons that fit the needs of each student.
