Building a foundation of mathematical skills is crucial for every child's development. Math provides vital life skills and helps develop problem-solving skills. Let's face it.....we use math in all our everyday life experiences and this is no different in a young child's life. The activities I have chosen are especially important in helping develop the mathematical skills in a young child's life. The activities I have chosen will help students learn important math concepts such as numerical skills, spatial thinking and reasoning, and exploration of patterns and shapes. Students will also learn how to compare sizes and count objects. I want to build the foundation for mathematical skills by making learning fun for all my students. I want to make my math center more engaging and hands-on. I feel that I can conquer this through the use of the activities that I have chosen for my classroom. Thank you for your support.
