As a culminating lesson, students will need to hone their skills learning about the Science Standard, as well as use other processing and engineering skills to crack each code! Some stations are puzzles that not only require content knowledge, but also require some out of the box thinking. Students can only move on to the next station once they've mastered a puzzle. I use these Escape Rooms for each unit that I teach. It would be really fun if they actually had the boxes and locks to break out of! In the past we've used paper and envelopes. This just doesn't have the same effect. Having the lock boxes also makes students independent when moving from station to station. They don't have to be checked by a teacher or logged into a computer to input a code. Lots of perseverance and problem solving happening while reviewing content knowledge!
