These items will promote self-esteem and confidence in our students. With these basic items, students can provide self- care at home which will enable them to concentrate on learning rather than embarrassing personal hygiene issues that come up at school. Many times students are too embarrassed to seek help from teachers. They do not have the basics to care for their own personal hygiene and this can lead to bulling and low self-esteem. As a school social worker, I see the impact of empowering a student to care for themselves. Overall, students gain a greater sense of "self" when this happens. The student feels comfortable, confident, and ready to learn.

About my class
