Dramatic play in kindergarten is an essential part of the classroom. When children engage in pretend (or dramatic) play, they are actively experimenting with the social and emotional roles of life. Dramatic play is an important part of a child's early childhood years. I am hoping to bring creative playtime back into the classroom. Through play, children are always learning. Through cooperative play, they learn how to take turns, share responsibility, and creatively problem-solve. The kitchen center can also be turned into other dramatic play centers throughout the school year. This will extend the children's dramatic play experiences and their learning experiences.
