My students participate in literacy centers every morning. I have an extensive book with accompanying CD library. It is so important that students have an actual book in their hands and follow along. This helps with reading fluency and so many other aspects of reading. If I had 5 CD players I would be able to offer my students 5 book options and keep them engaged all year long. Having multiple CD players would also cut down on teacher interruptions that result in a loss of valuable instruction time with other small groups.
