Learning about coding and STEAM building is the focus of my third request, my Part 3 project. I am requesting reading materials, a hands-on design cart and a work table which are just part of it. My hope is to provide students opportunities to build their STEAM literacy and problems solving skills. They will be able to read various informational books, at different levels, have access to a coding program, with a class subscription, and also have hands on tools and materials to be used for developing their new coding skills. Students will begin coding, by doing hands on activities, developing independence and problem solving skills, while reading, building bridges, and exploring design strategies. Students will be learning in different ways to better prepare them for what STEAM is: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics Using partnering and small groups, students will be learning how to code and work on team building activities.
