My classroom is comprised of African-American, Hispanic, and Caucasian scholars who are avid learners. The task of teaching foundational skills in reading and math is easier when students are highly engaged and excited about learning. Even though my students tell me that their favorite times of the day are recess and lunch, they are just as enthusiastic when reading books, completing morning work, solving math problems, and participating in science labs or social studies projects. Recently, my students have been learning about Holidays Around the World and made flags representing the country of Germany. Even though we spent the first three months of school in the media and science rooms due to multiple flooding of the kindergarten building, the children and I love our newly rebuilt classroom. Please support us in our efforts to refurnish our classroom. Thank you for your support.
