Our students are working on becoming leaders in reading. We facilitate several reading and writing groups throughout the morning. In those groups students practice writing CVC (three letter words), sentences, inventive spelling, and short stories using the dry erase boards and hand held mirrors. The steel pen holders and pen pal holders will be used to help attach and organize their desks which have tri-fold boards around them to make offices. All students read at their instructional level which varies greatly. This is where the Ready Freddy and Nate the Great books will be used. All of the items asked for will allow all students to gain confidence in becoming readers, publishers, and illustrators. The laminator and pouches will be used to make covers for books and projects that the students will be making throughout the year. All students make a WIG (wildly important goal) and the mini keychain animals will be the reward for making their goal.
