Meeting students where they are in their learning process is one of the keys for student’s success. By meeting students where they are in their learning process, they gain confidence in their learning development and it encourages them to be active participants in their learning acquisition. My students engage in everyday activities which promote the development of their learning, creativity, thinking skills, and collaboration. They collaborate in small groups, Learning Stations, guided writing, and guided reading in order to growth their love for learning where they collaborate among themselves to support each other in growing the skills they are seeking to master. Despite the setbacks of the past year and considering that over 90 percent of my students come from low-income households, they are eager to learn, they are active explorers, and they engage their full imagination and creativity in their learning process. I created Learning Stations because my students require individualized instruction in order to grow socio-emotionally and academically in Spanish and English Literacy. At these stations, they need crayons, markers, glue sticks, magnetic letters and small dry-erase boards. By having these basic learning tools and supplies to engage in everyday learning, my students will continue to grow their love for learning and they will continue to expand their learning experiences. By having access to basic school supplies, my students will continue engaging in learning activities that promote collaboration, their academic success, and their well-being.
