The science of reading shows that the best way for kids to learn how to read is to teach using explicit phonics instruction. Out of the girls in my class, so many of them are far below grade level because they lost a whole year of learning due to covid. The best way to provide my girls with a good reading foundation is to provide them with phonics-based books to practice with. If this project is fully funded, it would provide my girls with phonics books and reading games to play with. Additionally, I included a bunch of character books to help continue to push my girl's love of learning.
