A few years back, one of our sixth grade students wanted to put on the school’s first “Economics Fair” where the sixth grade students would run small businesses to raise funds. Those funds would be used to take our students to one of our local ski resorts where the students would spend the day learning how to ski or snowboard on what is known as “The Greatest Snow on Earth!” Despite having some of the greatest skiing in the world, most of our students come from highly impacted families. This economics fair helps us teach our students about the key components of running a business while also giving our students the opportunity to experience one of our state’s great treasures and learning a lifelong hobby that is both healthy and accessible. This project will help our students enhance the overall experience of the Economics Fair while also giving them the opportunity to raise funds at other events such as our annual Back to School Night and the popular STEM Fest.

About my class
