Students need a safe area to play, unwind, and burn off some energy. Our students, K-8, enjoy recess every school day. Our community uses the playground when school is not in session as it is the only option for a park in town or even a 20-mile drive. The swing set is over 40 years old, and while the frame is sound, most of the swings are broken or unsafe. After witnessing a swing break last week, a student council member brought the problem to our next meeting. The council asked for the swing set to be roped off until safe swings can be purchased. Unfortunately, our school does not have the money to replace the swings as the slide needed replacing first. The student council respectfully requests help purchasing these new swings for all to enjoy.
