I teach middle school science at a Hmong Language and charter school. Our population of students is very low income, and most have not had science experience beyond basic hands-on tools (magnets, etc). The students are so excited about learning science, but have limited hands on supplies to help them grasp some of the real-world applications that come with learning science. I would love to build up my classroom with science learning tools like the 3-D printer to give them the opportunities to apply some of our learning, like engineering, to real application. I've been a teacher for over 15 years, and one thing I've learned is that it's constantly evolving. Students should have experience and access to learning tools that will help them with today's world.
