This beautifully written book will be used as part of our poetry unit. Not only is this book relevant and engaging, but it will also show students that poetry can tell a story while serving as a vehicle for expressing our emotions. As we work through our unit, students will contemplate how poetry can help us better understand what it means to be human. After reading this book, students will have a chance to write their own story using narrative poetry. My goal is that students gain a greater appreciation for poetry as a genre by the end of this unit.

About my class
