Currently, I buy a lot of dry erase markers with my own money. Our department budget is small, and many of the teachers at our school are regularly using vertical non-permanent surfaces. (We use a LOT of markers at our school!) This project will help me have enough markers to keep students standing and thinking in the mathematics classroom! The smaller markers are for days when students practice on individual whiteboards at their seats. Students need variety in how they interact with content. The main goal of the project is to provide needed resources for things I am already doing in the classroom to engage my students. We frequently utilize the Chromebooks provided by the district for activities on Desmos but often students don't have fully charged Chromebooks, and I would like to make it easier for them to charge their device in the classroom. The Wacom tablet will add a new means of engagement to our classroom, as I can use it both during class to write hints and instructions on the board from anywhere and it will serve as a tool to improve any videos I make for students and embed in activities. In order to increase engagement, I would also like to be able to utilize cell phone pockets to remove the distraction they present.
