Many of my students have not had access to basic class resources, like notebooks and folders, for most of the school year. I have tried to obtain some of these personally, but many of my students are too embarrassed to admit their family cannot afford to purchase a notebook for their class. By providing all of my students with these materials to use in class, they will be able to worry less about what they cannot afford for school and focus more on the learning they are doing during class. Taking the burden of class supplies off of my students and their families is huge in ensuring they all have equitable access to education. The notebooks will be used daily by students to continue to grow their writing skills, while they will use the folders to store assignments for class. Pencils, highlighters, and colored pencils are basic supplies that we need daily and never have enough of for each student.
