These books will help students become interactive with a text during our animal structures unit. They will be able to picture and become that animal while reading about the different structures. They will also be able to interact with their fellow classmates that are reading the same book. Not only will they be reading, but they will be integrating their science content into that reading! Being able to integrate science into reading, while also keeping the students' interest is something that is difficult for a teacher. This book series allows me to do this effectively. For the pencil sharpener, this is something that is essential for our classroom materials. Recently, our pencil sharpener broke. I believe that using paper and pencil for work is an essential skill. This would help my students to practice their handwriting on a daily basis.
