A Sensory Room for our UPK students will help students with regulation as well as provide a hands on learning environment. All items in the sensory room will be educational as well as a calming space for students that need to regulate. Access to a sensory room will use a hands on kinetic learning style to play, interact with peers and regulate sensory systems. Often young learners are unsure how to regulate their sensory information, especially when attending school for the first time. Access to sensory information will also help teachers implement these strategies in the classroom.
