Motivating high school students to engage in class can be challenging, especially in the morning. Having hot beverages available to students in the morning increases student participation and contributes to their overall willingness to be truly present in the classroom. We've been operating with the bare minimum and I've already seen a turnaround in student behavior. Additionally, tardies are decreasing as students rush to get to class so they can get their beverages and seats before the bell rings. Although intrinsic motivation is always preferred, there's nothing wrong with some incentives and rewards for hard work.

About my class
