The one thing I have learned about my students, is that they thrive on movement to learn. Whether it is being able to stand and deliver a presentation, or as simple as walking around the room for a brain break, movement is crucial. I started noticing this idea of movement when I began observing their body language while sitting in the school provided plastic chairs. I constantly see students swinging their feet, standing to stretch, or at times falling completely out of their seat. This is where flexible seating places a crucial role. Flexible seating gives students the choice to have an alternative seating arrangement. My students who thrive on movement can be way more successful during the long sitting lessons. They will be able to rock back and forth and balance themselves. This will enhance the learning taking place by just adding some movement!
