Science to me is a verb-it means "doing it" not just reading about science content but experiencing it "hands on" and that involves having materials. The LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime Set will provide my students with learning activities and the materials (Legos, hardware, and coding language) needed which will allow them to work cooperatively and make them think critically to solve problems. The goal is that once purchased the kit will be able to be used for many years to come, allowing for more students to "learn the essential STEAM and 21st Century skills needed to become the innovative minds of tomorrow." Students will work with a partner or small team using the kits to enhance their understanding of the Engineering Design Process. This kit will provide students with problems; the students will need to use a combination of science, math, literacy, and computer programming skills to develop solutions. All skills that are necessary be successful in the 21st Century.
