As students work through their coursework independently, my role as a Supervising Teacher is to help support and guide them when they need support in any of their coursework. Additionally, I serve as one of the main resources for all students in our virtual academy who need assistance with mathematics. As a primary instructional support for mathematics for Independent Study students, I need to be able to effectively share resources and model example problems to facilitate understanding. From my experience working in virtual education, the best way for a teacher to do this is with a device that enables drawing. Without a such a device, doing math over the computer can be extremely cumbersome and inefficient, so in order to help my students in the most effective manner, I am requesting an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil to use to enhance the quality of math instruction and support for the students at my school.
