The books will be utilized during our cultural dance units to demonstrate that dance is a universal language and make contextual connections for the students to their own lives, dance history, and technique by using the text to introduce the new genre to the students. By adding the books and readings to the lesson in creative movement impacts the student's literacy growth. The mindfulness CD's will provide students with tools to help with self regulation and help provide new ways to be present and relaxed that are already supported by the dance curriculum. These tools can help students through test anxiety and stressful situations that occur during the school day Lastly, the gaff tape will allow the floor to be marked to help maintain their personal space while moving and support the elements of dance such as space by allow various pathways to be marked on the floor.
