I previously taught 11 years, then was home with my own kids for 11 years. This is my first year back! I am so happy to be back doing what my heart is called to do. My classroom that I inherited was full of broken materials and moldy teaching supplies. I have been buying my own supplies as well as everything my kids need to learn and grow in my classroom. They need any and every tool possible to get quality learning done in our limited day. We can use the book bins to organize our classroom library according to what the kids need. We can use the books to enhance our Reading curriculum with trade books, and we can use the teachers pay teachers purchases to create math and literacy center bins for independent and guided reading time. It’s not exaggeration that I’m starting from scratch, and it’s no exaggeration that my students will use and appreciate everything on our wish list.
