The rug is the center and hub or our classroom, the heart and brain connecting as one, the soft place to land. It is where we share emotional stories both happy and sad that impact the young lives of the students while knowing it is a safe place to vent and be open about feelings, thoughts and ideas. The rug is where we get our wiggles out during music and movement. The rug is where we learn new concepts and cheer victories of goals accomplished. The rug is place that former students recall with fond memories and ask current students "What color square on the rug do you sit in, I sat in the purple square and I remember telling the class about when my baby brother was born when I was in Pre-K."
