I am a Teacher of Students with Disabilities. Many of my students are also English Language Learners. Part of my daily responsibilities is to focus on small group instruction of two to four students per session. Many of my students have not had the opportunity to receive instruction in the area of handwriting due to the pandemic and virtual learning platform. The return to in-person instruction has brought this deficit into the limelight. Handwriting Without Tears offers my Students With Disabilities (as well as all others that need extra support in this area) a multi-sensory approach to handwriting. This project addresses a skill that is necessary in all subject areas. Increasing the ability to write will raise self-esteem as well as enhance academic performance for my students. I will be able to create lessons that engage my children and hold their interest in the task at hand. The materials provided by the program offer several opportunities to reinforce the proper formation of letters and numbers through systematically designed procedures. Please help me to make learning to write productive and fun!
