These 6th graders are still adjusting from learning completely online to being back in a classroom and having to stay at school all day. Rewarding positive behaviors reminds the students how they fit into the school system and it also motivates them to keep focused. Our school has certain standards that the kids can follow, such as acting with academic success, representing meaningful communication, a positive mindset, leadership, unity, and service for others. These treasure box items motivate them to step up to the standards, which become a part of them the more they follow them. The sensory toys are especially helpful for the students who have trouble focusing in class and need something to get out their fidgets.
