My 7th grade students have read and read about the layers of the Earth and now it's time to have a physical grasp on the layers of the Earth. Students will create a 3D model of the Earth using different color layers of play-doe. When students participate in hands on projects in the past, engagement shoots through the roof. Students will be able to have three colors to pick from to build their layers of the Earth. Students will then be required to label the layers and write a short summary about each layer. Students will also be able to see the life that is currently all around the earth by showing specimens of jellyfish and axolotls. These creatures need to be preserved with chemicals to ensure they are available to future classes.
