My class is filled with brilliant future presidents, engineers, surgeons, principals, CEOs, etc. They are brilliantly smart but lack the support, especially financially, at home to have basic supplies like a pencil each day. These students are exceptionally creative! They love breaking up the monotony of math by using dry erase boards or colorful pens and paper. I have many of the same students their entire Junior High career and I have gotten to know them so well. They deserve basic needs and wants. Our district is unable to provide the appropriate amount of materials at this time. Teachers are left to pick up the tab on any extras we want to provide our students.
