As art is a form of self expression, students will use material purchased to create their own masterpieces. Students will be exposed to a variety of art form. We will take virtual field trips as well as have art displayed in the classroom. The purpose of this project is to enable my students to: To work independently and collaboratively, displaying positive studio and ethical behavior including responsibility, organization, self-motivation, and appropriate interaction. Through the arts, students develop skills like resilience, grit, and a growth mindset to help them master their craft, do well academically, and succeed in life after high school. Ideally, this progression will happen naturally, but often it can be aided by the teacher. By setting clear expectations and goals for students and then drawing the correlation between the work done and the results, students can begin to shift their motivation, resulting in a much healthier and more sustainable learning environment. [NS: VA:Cr.2.HS.2l, VA:Cr3.HS.2I] Interested students can join the Art Club and during club time they will learn the basics of t shirt & tumbler making, and wood designs. Students will work with groups as well as independently to complete all projects. Final projects will be showcased in community partners offices. Students will also design pieces to wear themselves. Another objective is : To collect and present artwork for display. [NS: VA:Cr.2.HS.3I. VA:Pr4.HS.1I, VA:Pr5.HS.1I]
