I am requesting math manipulatives which will provide my students with the foundational skills they need using a hands on approach that is fun and engaging. The use of manipulatives foster students' practice and conceptual understanding by supporting them in their ability to move from concrete experiences to abstract reasoning. Additionally, the use of manipulatives helps students make connections and display their knowledge of mathematical concepts. If my students have access to math manipulatives, they will subsequently have what they need to explore and connect the mathematical concepts they are learning to the real world. Furthermore, the use of math manipulatives increases student engagement and allows for differentiation. This project will allow me to give my students the support they need to progress in their pursuit of high academic achievement.
