The materials will be used to help students present their independently created historic documentaries about their lives and their community. Students will create a 5-minute documentary in which they interview community and family members. The documentary will give first-hand accounts of the significance of their community as well as tell the story of how government policies have changed their community. The students will hold a screening of their documentary in which community members and fellow students will be invited to attend. The purpose of this activity is to empower student's voices.

About my class
