The books that I chose will help my first graders understand the depths of being honest and become more self-aware. These books will teach the ability to accurately recognize their own emotions, thoughts, values and how they influence behavior. First Grade is the best time to discuss and teach these social emotional learning skills because if they can deal with problems that affect them on a personal level now then they are better able to navigate the pressures of adult life. I hope you find it in your heart to contribute in anyway to this project and help my little First Grade cuties!
