When teaching over 450 kindergarten through second grade music learners last year in a different school system, I saw the excitement, the validation of their accomplishment in site reading, and willingness to learn by adding these instruments in their music class'. After introducing the glockenspiel, many of my students returned after their Christmas vacation to tell me they had been given a glockenspiel from Santa. I saw all of my students transition from the glockenspiel to the piano with eagerness and confidence. By the end of the year all 450+ students were able to play five songs on the piano. My two schools I teach here, do not have the ability to purchase these instruments nor do they have the inventory.
