A hydroponic farm will enable the youth to build their own self sufficient community of passionate gardeners. Students will learn to grow and prepare their own food, and how to take care of their communities health and well being with plants! With a hydroponic farm students will provide delicious and nutritious fruits, vegetables and herbs to their own community! Hydroponics is the future of produce as vegetables grown hydroponically can be grown anywhere no matter the temperature or location. Plants are grown in nutrient dense water, instead of soil enabling almost anyone anywhere to grow their own food! Once familiar with the growing processes of hydroponics the yield of produce can feed a great majority of students and staff at our school. We are what we eat, so we have a duty to ensure our students are receiving the most nutritious foods we can give them, and to teach them how plants can heal some of our common ailments like colds and flus! With the seeds in our cart we will grow eggplant to make eggplant Parmesan and pesto to make basil! Herbs do more than just season our food, but have the capability to heal sore throats and so much more. This is a magnificent opportunity to share this knowledge and empower our youth!
