Reading in the target Spanish language about actual young people who speak the target Spanish language, and seeing their pictures in their native cities and lands, will make what my students read about in textbooks come alive. The Spanish Scholastic magazines will make students' learning engaging, and will encourage them by helping them learn valuable cultural information in the language they are studying, and by letting them see that their progress in language learning can be enjoyable and can give them a connection to others their age around the world. My students will be able to take these magazines home to review what they have learned and been encouraged by, and will be able to use them as a constant resource for world events.
