Because of the educational gap caused by the pandemic, the books in my classroom library are too difficult for many of my students to read independently. The books that I am requesting will meet their current needs. I want my students to enjoy reading without feeling overwhelmed by a text too difficult for them. Additionally, reading at home each night is so very important, and I know that some of my students do not have books at home to read. Being able to borrow books on their reading level from our class library will help students bridge the gap that the pandemic has caused.
