My first grade classroom is full of eager readers, curious to learn about the world around them. With district budget constraints there is no money to complete or create a diverse classroom library. With the books I'm hoping to collect, the students will see themselves in the characters they read about and explore the world with a new found sense of wonder and pride. With a mixed genre of books the students will engage in both fiction and nonfiction text. The diverse characters in the books will allow students to feel represented and connected. My hope is to create a love of reading by creating a sense of wonder and intrigue.
