My students will develop new musical skills through learning to play the ukulele. They will collaborate as an ensemble and share their skills through performances for the community. Adding ukuleles to my classroom will give my students an additional tool they can explore music with. Shinichi Suzuki once said, "Musical ability is not an inborn talent but an ability which can be developed." Exposing my students to new instruments and giving them a hands-on learning opportunity will help to develop their musical ability. Every child has great potential for learning music. Having quality resources available to my students will foster this growth.
