iPad's in my classroom will allow students to highlight text, take notes in the margin and access a dictionary directly within the book itself. They will match (and in some cases, surpass) everything that a traditional textbook can offer. My students will use these iPad's as an enrichment tool, to practice, practice, practice ELA skills. I will add the iPad's in as a station during centers, and use them for small group teaching. Today’s children think differently and are raised with technology. The iPad allows students to interact with text and learn concepts in a new and improved way. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve these student's ELA skills, you will help to ultimately increase their academic achievement across every subject area.
