By having access to these materials my students will be able to interact with each other using the games and books to teach them the social emotional skills we need to strengthen. Social emotional learning is a framework that is critical for our students to learn in order for them to be successful. The materials will give me an opportunity to teach the skills in our weekly group by playing games, short story discussions, journaling, and role playing. Group will be more engaging making making it easier and fun to teach social skills and emotions. Students will have access to these materials not only during group session but will be available during the school day so when needed they can come in and practice the coping strategies used in group. As well as taking information home and sharing with parents what they have learned and how it can be applied at home as well.
