Using a variety of multidisciplinary techniques and approaches helps ensure that all students have access to learning. Games are a great tool to introduce and teach social emotional learning skills to our students. These are the skills that help kids become more self-aware, develop positive relationships, show empathy towards others, manage their emotions, use self-control, resolve conflicts, and make positive decisions. The social and emotional skills needed to play successfully with others are those needed to succeed at work and in adult life. With a tablet along with sensory integration tools our students can learn how to self regulate in one on one setting to support student needs. The natural affiliation between children, play, and the desire to have fun with others makes games an ideal vehicle for teaching Social Emotional Learning.
