Students can learn independently without distracting neighbors. They will enjoy working at their own pace. Most students work better when they believe they are in charge. I use choice during independent practice time. I believe the head phones will give students opportunity to listen to stories on their reading level, and will test privately without others listening to test score. Each reading group will have the opportunity to sit in the reading center and enjoy reading the book of choice according to their reading level. These comfy seats will make reading rewarding. Thank you
