Our school community built raised-bed gardens and a chicken coop just before the pandemic. Now that we are back in the building we are ready to take off with our planned projects of creating a dynamic environment for growing food for our school community. In addition to the planting and growing, it is our intent to integrate these hands-on opportunities with academics. Using these book bags in classrooms, students will be able to explore more deeply into the what and why of our gardens and how they can make sustainable choices. It is our intent that this project be part of the daily life of our school and we look forward to our first opportunity to eat what we have planted.

About my class
