A good classroom library is the first step in creating a positive culture of reading among students. Today, the books that students are most interested in reading happen to be graphic novels! Whether its traditional comic books or adaptations of classic novels, kids can't seem to get enough of these books. Students are more likely to explore a classroom library when they see graphic novels on the shelves. These books are an excellent resource for my low-level readers who are reluctant to read other books independently. By starting with graphic novels, they can get more experience with the types of literature they will be reading as they get older.
