I will be honest. Our classroom library leaves much to be desired. We have very few books in it that my students want to pick up and read on their own. I want my students to know what it feels like to get lost in a good book! Particularly after Covid, many of my students have forgotten what it means to read something not on a screen. I am hoping through this grant to make our classroom library an inviting place for students, and place where they can explore their own interests and passions. These non-fiction books in particular will help support our upcoming non-fiction book club unit. Currently, we do not have the curricular resources needed to teach the lessons as designed, which will force me to water down the content being taught. They will not only help my students, but help me tremendously. Thank you for your consideration!
