My students are passionate about learning and have a true love of books that is echoed by their teacher. Because of the unfortunate circumstances of Covid, there are foundational gaps I'm trying to fill in without all the resources needed to do so in the new classroom I'm in this year. I know in the world we live in, using technology is always an option, but this is the age where hands on text is so important! I teach first and second graders, age 5-8. The way a child's face lights up when they get to borrow a new book, on a topic they are interested in, that they can also read independently, is priceless! I recently moved from a different district that had more than enough books, to a classroom that needs more leveled texts to support reading instruction. I'm currently begging for and borrowing books to get by for now. Any help towards my goal is greatly appreciated!
