I have 18 students. Half of the class is Spanish speaking whereas the other is learning to speak Spanish. This a new program in the school district so I can tell there is some pressure from parents towards my students learning. My children are very enthusiastic learners. Every time I introduce a unit they are so engaged. They ask questions, make comments and formulate hypothesis of what they will be learning. They are also a well behaved group. They are learning to accept people's differences. At the beginning of the year, I could see them segregate by ethnicity. Now days, it's just a different thing. I am glad they are not just learning a new language. But they are also learning about cultures.
