The New York Times Best Selling Series Who Was, What Was and Where Was are stories about famous and important people, places and events that have shaped our history. They are great resources for kids because they are reading non-fiction that reads like a story and they enjoy the feeling of reading for fun. The list of books I am putting together contain biographies of people who have made great contributions, but are not necessarily known. Has important events that are not often talked about and things from pop culture that are fun or interesting. It is my hope that my current students, as well as generations to come, can enjoy learning about varied places, peoples and events that they wouldn't generally know much about or hear about often.
